Previous Trip: September 2016 - Brooklyn Tour
Longtime guide Michael Morrows boarded our bus and conducted us on a tour through this famed New York City borough from the Brooklyn Bridge to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, with stops for historic landmarks, shopping and noshing.
First settled in the 17th century by the Dutch, Brooklyn now offers a mélange of ethnic communities with a wide range of shopping opportunities - Russian, Ukrainian, Hispanic, Jewish, Italian, Greek, Arab-American, Pakistani, all with foods and crafts to bring home.
Tour highlights included Dumbo, Brooklyn Heights, Atlantic Avenue food shopping, the 86th Street Italian Bakery, the Coney Island, Boardwalk and Brighton Beach Avenue. A family-style group lunch was served up at Tatiana’s on the Brighton Beach Boardwalk.
