Just as we wash our dishes after use, so does the our water utility need to be routinely rinsed out. This maintenance process contributes to the long term health of our water utility, and should present minimal inconvenience for our residents.
The Borough of Madison Water Department will be conducting their annual fire hydrant and water main flushing programs beginning the week of September 16. The annual flushing throughout the borough will last approximately six (6) weeks.
During the flushing, the Water Department stated that residents might experience a temporary loss of pressure and a slight discoloration of the water for a short period of time.
Anyone who experiences further problems with their water service during the flushing period are asked to contact the Madison Water Department at (973) 966-7330.
