    Whereas, Chapter 231 of the Public Laws of the State of New Jersey for 1975, known as and designated as the "Open Public Meetings Act", requires notification of meetings of public bodies, as therein defined, in the manner therein set forth. Now, therefore, be it resolved, by the Borough of Madison Board of Health regular meetings of the Board of Health shall be held at 7:30 P.M., at the Board's offices at 28 Walnut Street, Madison, New Jersey, on the third Tuesday of each month, and special meetings will be called as needed.

The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Madison in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey will meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, except as noted*, in the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, 50 Kings Road in the Borough of Madison. The Regular Meeting will be called to order and begin with an Executive Session at 7:00 p.m., in the Committee Room, 2nd Floor, Hartley Dodge Memorial; the meeting will reopen to the public at 8:00 p.m. or as soon as practical thereafter and continue in the 2nd Floor Council Chamber where official action may be taken.

Chatham native, Nick Corasaniti is a New Jersey-based correspondent for The New York Times. Learn about this 'Jewel of the Mountains' and its rise as a great resort. Martin Kane will lecture on the rise in popularity of a local resort location. A graduate of Queens College and St. John's University School of Law, Martin Kane is a native of New York City. Now retired from government law, Marty has served as president of the Lake Hopatcong Historical Museum since 1990, and has been a board member of the Lake Hopatcong Foundation since its founding in 2012.

A native New Yorker, historian Martin Schneit has lectured widely in NYC and has recorder for the Jewish Braille Institute.

He will speak about the contents of his book, New Jersey Folk Revival Music, which traces the history of the genre of folk revival music and how it has evolved over the years. Michael is a lifelong resident of New Jersey, and a graduate of Montclair State University. He has worked as a writer and journalist for more than forty years. He is a member of the executive board of the Nutley Historical Society and serves on the advisory board of the Clifton Arts Center.

  8. From Great Estates to Public Gardens Wednesday, Jul. 31, 7:00pm

    What may be a surprise to many Morris County residents is that within a short driving distance there are hundreds of public gardens. Most of them are free and offer an incredible variety of plants and designs. In some instances these gardens were once part of a private estate and the original mansion may be open for viewing. This presentation covers a range of gardens from pocket size to multi-acre arboretums. Pictures are shown of each garden along with access information and the speaker’s highly subjective rating. A list of all local gardens will be provided. This program will be presented by Bill Moran, Speaker's Bureau Master Gardeners of Morris County Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
