The Madison Public Library will be closed Friday, April 3 and Sunday, April 5. Library hours on Saturday, April 4 will be 10 am - 5 pm.
Monk's Home Improvements is offering 5 college scholarships in the amount of $2,000. If you will be attending college during the 2015-2016 academic year and have a permanent residence in Madison, NJ you are eligible to apply. We are looking for service-minded individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to serving their community through volunteer work. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that all residents of the Borough of Madison are invited to a Special Public Information Meeting called by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Madison for Monday, March 9, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Second Floor of the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, Kings Road, in the Borough of Madison to review the Ridgedale Avenue Improvements Project. FURTHER NOTICE, that a presentation from the engineer will include recent plans, specifications and estimates in order to illustrate the scope of work and design intent; interested parties will have an opportunity for comment upon the scope of work and details presented concerning the Ridgedale Avenue Improvements Project. FURTHER NOTE, that maps and documents pertaining to the above Capital Project are on file and available for public inspection at the Office of the Borough Engineer, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., second floor, Hartley Dodge Memorial.
Thursday, March 5 - the Library is closing at noon due to the weather conditions.
The March 3, 2015 meeting of the Madison Borough Planning Board will be cancelled due to the weather.
Madison will be sponsoring a community meeting at Madison High School on February 25, 2015 at 7 p.m. to discuss the Pilgrim Pipeline proposal. Speakers will include former Governor Richard J. Codey, Mayor Bob Conley, our state legislative delegation, a NJDEP representative and an environmental attorney.
Saturday, February 21 - the Library is closing at 3pm due to the weather conditions.
Due to the weather, all non-essential Borough Offices will open at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
Per Municipal Code 166-34, A residential property owner may apply to the Borough for partial reimbursement of the cost of replacement of an existing sidewalk or construction of a new sidewalk on land abutting a public street. The reimbursement shall be $15 per square yard. The reimbursement shall apply to sidewalk installation only and shall not apply to ancillary work such as landscaping, lawn sprinklers and electronic dog fences. The property owner shall submit to the Borough Engineer all bills associated with the project as well as evidence of payment to the contractor.
NOTICE, that the Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Madison, County of Morris and State of New Jersey, scheduled to begin in the 2nd Floor Committee Room of the Hartley Dodge Memorial, Kings Road in the Borough of Madison on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. is rescheduled to Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. and will immediately adjourn to Executive Session. The public session of the Regular Meeting will reconvene at the usual time of 8:00 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Council Chamber. FURTHER NOTICE, that formal action will be taken at the public session.
