NOTICE TO BIDDERS
ADDENDUM #1

BOROUGH OF MADISON, MORRIS COUNTY, NEW JERSEY
JANITORIAL SERVICES
BID OPENING DATE – FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2008, 10:00 AM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for JANITORIAL SERVICES will include an acknowledgement of this ADDENDUM #1 by the Borough of Madison, County of Morris, State of New Jersey.  The ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF CHANGE form included in the bid document on page 27 must be completed.  Addendum #1 consists of some additions and some clarifications in the bid specifications as stated below:

Clarification: Page 3, Item #10 “The successful bidder will provide all necessary tools, equipment and power to start and complete the job.”  The Borough of Madison will supply the electricity for the vendor to run his/her tools, equipment, etc.

Currently there are two different companies performing the work in the two different locations.  This is the first time we are bidding the services.  The scope of these specifications is greater than the work being performed in the locations currently.  The approximate previous costs were $16,000 per year to clean the Civic Center and $3,000 per year to clean the Water and Electric Building.

There is no bid bond requirement for this job but there is a requirement for an Employee Dishonesty Bond with minimum limits of $100,000 (see the Hold Harmless Agreement, page 21, of Bid Specs).

On pages 30-31 of the bid document, replace the following section with the section of the same title currently there.
