Heat Wave

In anticipation of extremely high temperatures, the Library and Civic Center will be open as cooling centers. The Madison Public Library will be open until 9 PM on Wednesday, and until 6PM on weekdays, and 5:00 on Saturday. The Senior Center will be available until 4:30 PM. on Friday. Rain Barrel Workshop

The Borough of Madison will be hosting a Rain Barrel Workshop at Memorial Park on Rosedale ave on May 19th from 9am to 12pm. Supplies for the workshop are supplied by Rutgers Cooperative extension and the event will be co- sponsored by the Whippany River Watershed Action Committee. Rain barrels can be attached to your downspouts to capture runoff from the roof. Rain water is naturally soft and the water your rain barrel will collect is ideal for washing your car and watering your plants. Using Rainwater is easy and natural. The fee for the workshop is $60.00 and you go home with a rain barrel to help make their properties more eco-friendly. Revaluation Community Presentation

The Morris County Board of Taxation has ordered Madison to undertake a property tax revaluation. The Madison Borough Council will be offering a revaluation community presentation on 2/27/12 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Hartley Dodge Memorial building. Representatives of of the firm that will be preforming the revaluation will be discussing the process and procedure. We invite you to attend this important and informative meeting.
