The Downtown Development Commission (DDC) supports Madison's
business district in many ways and organizes various promotions including:

                  Madison Farmers Market

Madison Farmers' Market, a downtown event every Thursday from June 6th to October 17th

Bottle Hill Day, a festival celebrating our hometown and downtown with over 10,000 in attendance.

May Day in Madison, a town-wide beautification day, always the first Saturday in May. Over 800 volunteers help clean up Madison's public spaces.

Taste of Madison, an evening of fine food and libations to showcase Madison's best dining, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of Madison.

,  a collaborative project of the Madison Arts and Culture Alliance (MACA) and the DDC to exhibit original artwork of local artists on banners in the downtown district.


In addition to these major events, the DDC has
four standing committees that work throughout the year:

univtours

University Relations:  This committee works to strengthen the connection between the Universities and downtown. One of their largest initiatives is the University Town Tour Program, which brings new university students into Madison for a tour of our downtown.

Public ImprovementThis committee focuses on improving the streetscape and public spaces in the commercial district.  They also support the Merchant of the Month program as a partnership with the Chamber of Commerce.

Parking This committee continually seeks ways to improve available shopper parking in the downtown.

Sign & FacadeAs part of the zoning process for businesses, this committee reviews all sign applications within the Borough.  For detailed information on sign permits, and how to open a business in Madison, please click here.
