The Downtown Development Commission supports Madison's business district in many ways and organizes various promotions including:

Madison Farmers Market

Farmers Market, a downtown event every Thursday from June 14th to October 25th.

WAVERLY PLACE: June 14 - Aug. 16
GREEN VILLAGE ROAD: Aug. 23 - Oct. 25

bhd Bottle Hill Day, a festival celebrating our hometown and downtown with over 10,000 in attendance.

md May Day, a town-wide beautification day where over 800 volunteers help clean up public spaces throughout Madison.  Always the first Saturday in May.  For more information, please call Mara Johnson at 973-822-3900.
taste Taste of Madison, an evening of fine food and libations showcasing Madison's best dining establishments, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of Madison.  To see last year's Taste of Madison dining ledger, click these links for the front page and back page.

 

In addition to these major events, the Commission has four standing committees that work throughout the year.

University Relations:  This committee works to strengthen the connection between the Universities and downtown.  One of their largest initiatives is the University Town Tour Program, which brings new university students into Madison for a tour of our downtown.

Public Improvement:  This committee focuses on improving the streetscape and public spaces in the commercial district.  They also support the Merchant of the Month program as a partnership with the Chamber of Commerce.

 
parking Parking:  This committee continually seeks ways to improve available shopper parking in the downtown.
