The Downtown Development Commission (DDC) supports Madison's
business district in many ways and organizes various promotions including:

The Madison Downtown Development Commission
in partnership with the Madison Chamber of Commerce, METC, MACA and Madison Music & Arts present almost 30 FREE Concerts! Click here to see the entire schedule. 
Madison Farmers Market  
Madison Farmers' Market, a downtown event every Thursday from June 4th to October 15th from   2:00 to 7:00pm. The 2015 Farmers' Market is moving to Central Avenue between Main Street and Cook Avenue. 

Bottle Hill Day, Saturday, October 3, 2015, a festival celebrating our hometown and downtown with over 10,000 in attendance. The  2015 application is now available. Also, for your consideration the 2015 Bottle Hill Sponsorship Packet


May Day in Madison, Saturday, May 2, 2015, a town-wide beautification day, always the first Saturday in May. Over 800 volunteers help clean up Madison's public spaces. 


Taste of Madison, Monday, March 30, 2015, an evening of fine food and libations to showcase Madison's best dining, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of Madison.

      artgallery logo Madison Sidewalk Gallery, a collaborative project of the Madison Arts and Culture Alliance (MACA) and the DDC to exhibit original artwork of local artists on banners in the downtown district.


Scavenger HuntThe DDC and the Madison Area YMCA are teaming up to host the First Annual Madison Downtown Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, March 21st, 2015! The event will support downtown Madison and benefit the Madison Area YMCA’s Community Mental Health Initiative.

In addition to these major events, the DDC has
four standing committees that work throughout the year:


University Relations:  This committee works to strengthen the connection between the Universities and downtown. One of their largest initiatives is the University Town Tour Program, which brings new university students into Madison for a tour of our downtown.


Public ImprovementThis committee focuses on improving the streetscape and public spaces in the commercial district.  They also support the Merchant of the Month program as a partnership with the Chamber of Commerce.


Parking This committee continually seeks ways to improve available shopper parking in the downtown.


Sign & FacadeAs part of the zoning process for businesses, this committee reviews all sign applications within the Borough.  For detailed information on sign permits, and how to open a business in Madison, please click here.
