Park Avenue Sanitary Force Main

The work by Matina & Son Utility Contractors for Partial Replacement, Access Manholes, Cleaning, and Inspection of the Sanitary Force Main between North Street and Ridgedale Avenue will be completed this week. The County of Morris intends to follow this project closely with repaving and restriping of Park Avenue.

Gas Main Service

On or about August 13, 2010, PSE&G will be replacing gas main and service lines on Main Street in Madison, NJ. The work will be done from 9 PM through 6 AM, and will take roughly five weeks. PSEG North Central Reliability Project

Beginning next week, employees/surveyors of BL Companies, a subcontractor of Henkels & McCoy, Inc., will be working on the electric transmission right-of-way for Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G). They will set control points in preparation for the construction of the North Central Reliability Project,http://www.pseg.com/family/pseandg/powerline/reliability_projects/north_central.jsp, which will upgrade the electric transmission system. In order to be prepared for residential inquiries, the surveyors will have their corporate identification card and a letter from PSE&G to validate their work for PSE&G. If constituents have questions, they can either call the electric transmission toll-free outreach number 1 – 877 – 678 – 5784;

Pine, Beech Rose, Cedar Improvements

This Road Improvement Program by the Borough of Madison is nearly complete in your neighborhood since final paving has been accomplished. The Borough of Madison has made it’s contractor, Cifelli & Son, aware of punchlist items such as topsoil, seed, stabilization, irrigation, rim/box adjustments, basin cleaning, minor repairs etc… however private property owners are also given the opportunity to provide input. No more road closures or access limitations are associated with this construction. Please make every effort to irrigate the topsoil and seeded areas regularly for the next two weeks, as this will improve initial seed growth and minimize invasive weeds. Improving public infrastructure is important to the entire Borough, so thank you again for your patience and cooperation.

The Contractor performing work on Woodland Road (J Alexander)has indicated milling and paving will commence and be completed the week of May 7th. Your cooperation is requested during the time of construction to remove/relocate the automobiles you intend to use by approximately 7:30 a.m. on paving days when the contractor is active on your street. This will minimize interruption of construction work and allow the contractor to finish as soon as possible. Temporary Parking on a minor local street within 1000 feet of your home/business may be anticipated with the cooperation of the Police Department.

Pine, Beech Rose, Cedar Gas Services

Public Service Electric & Gas is replacing mains and services on Pine, Beech, Rose and Cedar streets in Madison. Please contact PSE&G for an appointment to enter your home for the final meter adjustment between 7 am and 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. The District Office is (908) 522-7468. Please provide two possible dates and times with a two hour window for the workmen. Workmen can be scheduled on Saturdays. The sooner the house services are completed, the sooner the entire project will be completed. We appreciate your cooperation.

Woodland / Samson Detour

The Contractor performing work at the Woodland / Samson intersection requires a road shutdown and detour for two weeks to regrade the intersection according to the plans. This will comprise a significant change in circulation for Woodland Road for this two weeks of construction work. The Contractor anticipates reopening the intersection after the grading has been completed and pavement base has been placed. Thank you for modifying your route of travel during this period.

Construction on Woodland Road

A contract is underway between the Borough of Madison and JA Alexander General Contruction Co. for Woodland Road Reconstruction between Garfield Ave and Barnsdale Rd. Construction was halted for the winter months and will be restarted based upon the schedule submitted by the contractor mid April and continue for six weeks through completion.
