Women’s Health Screening, Wednesday, May 6 Offered by Madison Board of Health and Madison Health Department Open to all women 18 and over who live in town including nannies and other household employees and those without health insurance coverage Where: Madison Health Department Civic Center, 28 Walnut Street, Madison When: Wednesday, May 6 starting at 9:30 a.m. What: Comprehensive check up for women: manual breast and pelvic exams, colo-rectal exams, blood pressure checks and education on the technique of monthly breast self-examination. Dr. Rohini Jobanputra will determine with each woman if a Pap test is advisable. Sign ups: Appointments are necessary and may be made by calling 973-593-3079 ext.1 beginning on April 9. Fees: There may be a $25.00 fee for the Pap test for Madison and Springfield residents.

Adult Heart Health Screening

What: Blood screening and blood pressure checks for all adults at the Madison Health Department. Includes the CMP (comprehensive metabolic profile blood analysis), blood pressure checks, information on cholesterol and diet, fitness and preventing osteoporosis. The CMP analysis includes total cholesterol, HDL and LDL cholesterol, CBC and other blood components. Sign ups: Appointments are necessary and may be made by calling 973-593-3079 ext.1 beginning on May 15. Participants should have their physician’s name, address and telephone number ready when they call. Fees: There is a $25.00 fee for the blood work, payable within the registration period Where: Madison Health Department, Madison Civic Center, 28 Walnut Street When: Saturday, June 7, 2014 starting at 8 a.m.

Spring '14 Health Check, May 7

Dr. Allison Adams, DMD of Madison Will join the Madison Health Department to perform a 5 minute, painless oral exam on Wednesday, May 7, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Any necessary follow up will be provided free of charge. Head Lice to Dead Lice!

Parents, come to the Madison Community House (25 Cook Ave) on November 6th at 1:00pm to learn more about how lice is spread in children and how to treat it. We will also be discussing proper antibiotic use in children, and the dangers of antibiotic overdose. FREE Comedy Night

Come out and enjoy some laughter, fun and refreshments as we celebrate the natural highs. WNV has been reported in Morris County and all residents are encouraged to protect themselves from mosquito bites by: using insect repellent, limiting time outside at dawn and dusk, wearing long sleeves and pants, eliminating standing water outside and repairing window screens.
