Borough Budget Hearing
The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Madison in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey will meet in the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, 50 Kings Road in the Borough of Madison. The Budget Hearing will be called to order and begin at 7:00 p.m., in the 2nd Floor Council Chamber, Hartley Dodge Memorial, where official action may be taken. 2012 Budget work Session
NOTICE, that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Madison in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey have scheduled a Budget Work Session for December 9, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Council Chamber, Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, Kings Road in the Borough of Madison. The Agenda will consist of, but not be limited to, the 2012 Municipal budget. FURTHER NOTICE, that formal action or actions may be taken. DOORSTEP FOOD DRIVE GOING FORWARD AS PLANNED!
The Doorstep Food Drive to benefit the Community FoodBank of NJ will go forward as planned tomorrow, Saturday August 26th. Please leave donated food on your doorstep before 12 noon. Members of Madison VC77 will be driving around to pick up your donations beginning at 12 noon! If you prefer you may drop off your donations tomorrow in the back parking lot of the Hartley Dodge Building (Town Hall) between 12:30PM through 2PM. Just drive through and VC77 volunteers will be there to accept your donations. Please direct questions to madisonhungeraction@gmail.com. Thank you for your support. BOTTLE HILL FOOD DRIVE OCT. 1
MADISON BOTTLE HILL DAY FOOD DRIVE Date: October 1st, 2011, between 10AM and 5PM A town-wide food drive to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey will occur during the town’s Bottle Hill Day celebration. Venture Crew 77 will set up in front of the old fire truck bay doors at the Hartley Dodge Building. Residents and visitors may drive through the parking lot to drop off their donations of food. Non-perishable food only. No glass jars or cellophane packaging please. 39 Acre Committee Meeting
The 39 Acre Passive Recreation Committee will be meeting at 7pm on August 2nd in the Committee Room at Hartley Dodge Memorial.
May 23, 2011 Council Meeting Time Change
NOTICE, that the Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Madison, County of Morris and State of New Jersey, scheduled for May 23, 2011 is rescheduled from 7:00 p.m. to begin at 6:30 p.m. and immediately adjourn to Executive Session. The Regular Meeting will reconvene at the usual time of 8:00 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Council Chamber, 50 Kings Road in the Borough of Madison. FURTHER NOTICE, that Executive Session discussions will include, but not be limited to review of Executive Minutes, three Personnel Matters, one Contract Matter and one Litigation Matter. Any action on these matters will be taken at a Public Session.
Expanded Recycling Pickup
Mayor Mary-Anna Holden today announced that yard waste pickup will begin March 14, and effective immediately the Borough co-mingled containers recycling pickup will now accept all plastic containers. For the full announcement, please see http://gov.rosenet.org/uploads/26/recycling.pdf
Latest Council Meetings on our Local Channel
The 2/14/11 and 2/28/11 Borough Council Meetings have been scheduled for air, daily at 2 and 5 PM respectively. The 2/28/11 meeting start time was moved from 6 PM to 5 PM because of the roughly 3 hour long runtime. FiOS Patrons may tune to Channel 34, and those served by CableVision should use Channel 21.
Snow Storm Public Safety Alert
The Madison Fire Department is asking the public to assist with clearing snow from around fire hydrants after a snow storm. We ask the snow to be cleared 3’ around the hydrant and a path to the road be shoveled. The Madison Police Department is asking residents to use extreme caution while driving and avoid unnecessary driving during the snow storm.
