Prescription Drugs Drop Off

The Madison Police Department in conjunction with Morris County Prevention is Key will now be accepting expired or unused prescription drugs on a permanent basis.

The “MedReturn” box, which was donated by Morris County Prevention is Key, is now stationed in the lobby of the Police Department and will allow residents to anonymously dispose of unwanted or expired prescription drugs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Accepted items for disposal include prescriptions, prescription patches, prescription medications, prescription ointments, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, medication samples and medications for pets. Items that are not accepted include needles (sharps), thermometers, hydrogen peroxide, inhalers, aerosol cans, medication from businesses or clinics and ointments, lotions or liquids.

Residents and nonresidents can bring their medications to the Madison Police Headquarters located at 62 Kings Road, Madison, NJ 07940 (corner of Kings Road and Prospect Street) or find a local collection site on www.americanmedicinechestchallenge.com  or www.safehealthymorris.org.
