When We Were Not at Work, presented by Catherine Brid Nicholson, PhD, Kean University.  Come join us this Mother’s Day for an exciting talk on toys and games. Learn how different toys were made, how they would be played with and who exactly the toymakers were.  Advance registration recommended, call 973-377-2982 x13.  Regular Admission.

In the Revolutionary Style, Wednesday, May 15th  7 pm
Discover what was "IN" and what was "OUT" in 18th Century fashion with Pat Sanftner.  Explore the style changes during the 1700's and the fashion mavins that made them happen.  Complete with period dress and costume changes, Pat will reveal the truly fascinating history of a subject we all love to get in to.  Admission is $8 for non-members & $4 for Members (includes Museum admission).  Space is limited; pre-registration is recommended call 973-377-2982 x14.

Exhibit Lecture,  Thursday, June 6th  6 PM
Working Men's Clothes in New Jersey and the Atlantic World, 1750-1825, presented by Tyler Putman, University of Delaware.  This talk will examine the clothing of sailors and laborers in New Jersey and abroad using written records, visual depictions, and surviving garments.  Advance registration recommended, call 973-377-2982 x13.  Regular Admission.

Bottle Hill Day,  Saturday, October 5th  11 AM - 4 PM
Go back in time with the New Jersey Frontier Guard and learn about life during the French and Indian Wars (1754 - 1765).  Stationed on the front lawn of the Museum, members of the New Jersey Frontier Guard will recreate and demonstrate the crafts, skills, military activities and daily life of the mid-eighteenth century New Jersey resident.  In addition, visitors are encouraged to explore the Museum and it's many exhibits.  For more information visit our website at www.metc.org or call 973-377-2982.  FREE!

Teddy Bear Picnic,  Thursday, November 14th  4 PM - 5 PM
Bring your teddy bear and help us honor National Teddy Bear Day, with a Teddy Bear Picnic for both human and stuffed visitors alike.  Gather around our Museum Educator and listen to teddy bear stories.  Take part in a fun teddy bear craft.  Enjoy yummy teddy bear treats and an afternoon of teddy bear fun!  Appropriate for children 2-6 years old.  Advanced registration recommended, call 973-377-2982 x12.  $3 admission/ participant & Regular Admission for all others.

Blue Star Museum Season,  Memorial Day – Veteran’s Day  Regular Hours
As a thank you to those in the Armed Forces and their families, METC will once again participate in the Blue Star Museum program.  This is a free admission program available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention Common Access Card (CAC), A DD Form 1173 ID Card, or a DD Form 1173-1 ID Card, which includes active duty military and their immediate family members, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve.  For more information call 973-377-2982 x14 or visit www.metc.org.  FREE!

Field Trips & Outreaches-  Our popular education programs focus on how people lived and worked in the 18th and 19th centuries.  Meeting New Jersey's Core Curriculum Content Standards, children get a hands-on lesson about history.  Programs can be held at the Museum or brought to your facility.  Call 973-377-2982 x12 for a brochure or visit www.metc.org.

Senior Citizen Programs, Adult Groups & Outreaches-  The Museum offers a variety of tours and programs for senior citizens or adult groups.  Each program provides demonstrations and discussions.  Optional crafts are also available.  All programs can be brought to your facility, or can be presented at the Museum.  Call 973-377-2982 x12 for more information or visit www.metc.org.

Scout Programs-  Boy and Girl Scouts can fulfill requirements for badges, arrows and achievements with our interactive programs, where children take part in a lesson and make a craft to home.  Call 973-377-2982 x12 for a brochure or visit www.metc.org.

Preschool & Young Children’s Groups-  The Museum has a number of programs perfect of young children.  Mothers, babysitters and mother’s helpers are encouraged to book a program that will entertain their little one in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.  Programs can be booked for groups of 5-10, so bring friends, neighbors or fellow club members with their children for a nice afternoon at the Museum.  Call 973-377-2982 x12 for a brochure or visit www.metc.org.
