The Madison Housing Authority is applying to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development’s Moving to Work (MTW) Demonstration Program Asset Building Cohort. MTW provides housing authorities with relief from the “one-size-fits-all” approach to HUD affordable housing. MTW agencies enjoy regulatory flexibility, streamlined practices and the ability to create policies that respond to the local need. If selected by HUD to be an MTW agency, the Madison Housing Authority will work with residents and the community to identify innovative policies to support our mission of providing quality, inclusive, affordable homes to low- and moderate-income individuals and families, creating opportunities to build stable, healthy lives and to become a vital part of the Madison community.
