The Shade Tree Management Board of the Borough of Madison and its sister organization, the non-profit
Friends of Madison Shade Trees, invite the public to attend its annual Arbor Day celebration on the steps of the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building. For the thirty-first consecutive year, Madison will be honored with a Tree City USA award. For the ninth year, Madison has the additional honor of receiving a Tree City USA Growth Award in recognition of environmental improvement and the achievement of higher levels of tree care.
The Arbor Day program will include contributions from school children as well as the presentation of the Tree City flag to Mayor Robert Conley.
Madison’s Arbor Day observance will once again be part of a larger community celebration. The Downtown Development Commission is sponsoring “
May Day in Madison”, an event organizing volunteers in town-wide beautification projects.
Please join us in acknowledging the importance of trees in our environment and in supporting the efforts being made to plant and preserve shade trees.
