    2. In order to help the Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Advisory Committee field requests for funding from the Open Space Trust Fund, this form should be used to provide information that will be considered by the Advisory Committee when making recommendations for the Fund’s use to the Borough of Madison’s Council.

      Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. The Advisory Committee will perform a review and make recommendations to the Borough Council in a timely manner upon receipt of a request.

      It is important to understand the intent of why the Fund was put in place when considering a request for money. The following is the original Referendum:

      2003 Referendum Passed by Madison Voters: “Said fund shall be designated for the purposes of acquiring and maintaining property or easements within the Borough of Madison and surrounding municipalities for the purpose of open space and historic preservation, natural resources protection, and the addition of active and passive recreation lands. The Fund complements any other available funding sources, and is to be used exclusively for the purchase and maintenance of property or easements within the Borough and adjacent municipalities for the following purposes:

      · Open space preservation;
      · Historic preservation;
      · Natural resources preservation, including water supplies;
      · Active and passive recreation expansion.”
